ASEAN Grassroots Peoples Assembly
In the last of the section, the forum aimed to collect the outputs, take the comments, and find solutions and a strategy after the problems were identified by the ASEAN people. Representatives from each community and group came up to show their feelings by singing a song related to ASEAN Free Trade agreements and foreign investment and the impacts on local people. All ASEAN leaders need to pay attention to them on these issues.
All the communities and groups have to be strong self-confident, build allies and bring their voices to the international community for help. For food sovereignty, there are 370 million hungry people in ASEAN, many who are farmers themselves. Who benefits from food production? And how can we produce food sustainably? All of these questions need to be answered if the world is to have food sovereignty. As we have rights for children and women, now we should have rights for farmers.
